Nigeria: Engineer Teams Up With Other Creatives To Produce Coolers That Preserves Food For Six Days

Olufemi Agbato, a Nigerian engineer based in the USA, has teamed up with other creative minds to develop cooler boxes that can preserve food and drinks for about six days.

The coolers were initially a result of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) research project before the team transformed it into a startup company called DAM Coolers.

Apart from using vacuum technology, the coolers are much lighter, trendier and have thinner walls, which gives users more space to preserve their stuff.

According to the team, some people and organisations have already started embracing the product, with a good number of coolers being pre-ordered.

Olufemi, co-founder DAM Coolers described the startup as an “outdoor company with a fun attitude and innovative approach to creation”.

The products are also meant to cater for people who desire to enhance their lifestyles with activities and recreation such as beach going, party going, camping and outdoor adventures as well as other activities such as going to work or school, food storage, cold chain transport and food delivery.

Currently, the startup’s flagship products are the DAM25 and DAM35 Hard Sided Vacuum Insulated Cooler.

The coolers use Vacuum Insulated Technology to keep its content colder while being lightweight.

In 2019, DAM Coolers raised an amount of $8600 in an equity crowdfunding round.
