First Animated Reality Show To Be Released In Ghana
Undergrads, an animated reality show is set to be released in July this year by Kevin Bryson, a graphic designer and programmer.
The show is the first ever animated reality show and is based on the lifestyle of rich tertiary students. It will be premiered in July on Youtube.
In an Exclusive interview with digitaltimes, Mr Bryson stated that his production is in the final stages and comes in eight episodes for the first season.
“It is based on the lavish lifestyle of five characters in the university. The show also incorporates elements of Ghanaian culture to make it as relatable to audiences as possible,” he explained.
He said that the scenes would reflect the campus life in Ghana and also real life experiences as well.
“I had the idea for this concept in 2018. Later, I told my friends about it and they agreed it was good. From then on, I had to get equipment for recording, write the scripts, and organize auditions for voice over artists,” he narrated.
To produce the animated reality show, Mr Byron revealed that he partnered with an animator from Sri Lanka, to develop and complete the project before release.
According to him, he had always wanted to start a YouTube channel based on real life experiences and enjoys watching foreign animators for inspiration.
On his challenges, he stated that though “making animation is very difficult”, he will not stop and is very hopeful that his project will show Ghana what animators like him are capable of doing.
He appealed to prospective investors to invest in animation as the sector requires funding to pursue impactful projects.
“Animation is growing at a slow pace in the country. As a result, it needs all the support it can get in terms of investment from corporate institutions and firms” he added
